1. About Scorpex
Scorpex Electronics Limited is registered in Scotland under company number SC250560. Our registered office is North Lodge, Fetteresso, Stonehaven, Scotland, AB39 3UR. You can contact us through our contact form or write to this address.
2. Which terms apply?
These are our general terms for Scorpex websites, products and services, including those offered under our product brands. A purchase may also have its own purchase terms, software licence, subscription conditions or agreed project contract. We will make the applicable terms available before you commit to that purchase.
If an applicable product term or agreed project contract differs from these general terms, that more specific term applies to that purchase. Nothing in these terms or any product terms removes rights that the law gives you and that cannot be excluded.
Product addenda: Logic Blob purchase terms and software licence, and Media Smith software licence and third-party notices. Read the relevant addendum alongside these general terms. A product addendum applies only to that product.
3. Orders and engineering services
The product description and checkout, or an agreed quotation and project contract, set out what we will supply, the price, payment arrangements, delivery and any ongoing commitment. Check these details and correct any errors before submitting an order. We will provide confirmation of an accepted purchase in a form you can keep.
Submitting a project enquiry does not commit either party to a paid engagement. Consultancy and engineering work proceed under a separately agreed scope and contract.
4. Prices and payments
The applicable currency, total price, taxes and any additional charges are shown before you commit to a purchase or are set out in your agreed quotation. Recurring payments, where offered, will be identified before you subscribe.
Online payments may be processed through Stripe. Where checkout uses Stripe Managed Payments, Stripe's designated merchant-of-record entity handles the sale transaction, including applicable transaction taxes and payment-related refunds under its terms. Scorpex remains responsible for the product, its delivery and product support. Where Stripe is acting only as a payment processor, Scorpex is the seller. The checkout and purchase confirmation identify the seller for your transaction.
5. Delivery, licences and support
Each product or service describes its delivery method, compatibility requirements, licence rights and included support. Software and digital content are licensed under the licence supplied for that product; purchasing a licence does not transfer ownership of the underlying intellectual property. These general terms do not add restrictions to the licence supplied with your purchase.
If delivery fails or a product does not work as described, contact the support channel provided with your purchase or use our support form. Include enough information for us to identify the purchase and investigate the problem. Do not send payment-card details.
6. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation and refund arrangements depend on the product or service and your legal rights. The applicable purchase terms explain them. These general terms do not impose a blanket no-refund policy.
For digital downloads, where a 14-day cancellation right applies, it is lost only when supply begins after you have expressly agreed to immediate supply and acknowledged the loss of that right, with the required confirmation provided. Merely visiting this page or accepting general terms does not give that consent. Any required consent is collected separately during the relevant purchase.
Rights relating to faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods, digital content or services remain unaffected. For purchases using Stripe Managed Payments, Stripe's applicable refund policy and transaction support also remain unaffected.
7. Using our websites
You may use our websites for lawful purposes. Do not attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software or deliberately disrupt the websites or their services. Website material belongs to Scorpex or its licensors unless stated otherwise. You may view it and keep copies for personal reference; other use requires permission unless permitted by law or an applicable licence.
General articles and examples do not replace advice or engineering work tailored to your system. External links are provided for reference; the linked sites have their own terms and privacy practices.
8. Our responsibilities and your rights
We will supply products and services in accordance with the applicable contract and legal requirements. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
9. Privacy, changes and governing law
Our privacy notice explains how Scorpex and its product brands handle personal information. Product privacy addenda describe additional product-specific processing; payment providers explain their independent processing in their own notices.
We may update these general terms for future use or purchases. Updates do not retrospectively change an existing purchase or agreed project contract. You can save or print this page for your records.
These general terms are governed by Scots law. If you are a consumer, you retain the protection of mandatory laws and any right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence. A separately agreed business project contract may specify its own governing law and courts.
